Budgets are cut and everyone's trying to do more with less. Justification to travel for education is difficult, which is why AHRA's FREE local area meetings are becoming more popular. Why not bring a meeting to your own area? These events are organized by volunteer members alongside AHRA staff. The three main things that need to be done are:
1) Find a location
2) Secure a sponsor
3) Recruit one or more speakers
Along with staff, AHRA members who have already organized these events are willing to help. More often than not, speakers are either provided by the sponsor or from the facility hosting the event. Even the member coordinators themselves have been speakers and used topics they may have already presented at an AHRA event.
From there, the AHRA office handles most of the other things like registration, marketing, and CE tracking. We put on a lot of these meetings so it's really simple for members who coordinate them. We make it a point to have it be as painless as possible!
