Gulf Coast Regional Meeting Roundup

The AHRA Gulf Coast Regional Meeting took place June 4, 2010 at the Brent House Conference Center/Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Fifty leaders from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama experienced a great day of education and networking.
Attendees arrived at noon to a fantastic New Orleans lunch followed by a warm welcome from Ed Cronin, AHRA’s CEO. Many who attended were not members of AHRA and were very impressed to learn the many things AHRA has to offer leaders in the industry. That in itself made this meeting a success.
The four speaker sessions that followed included:
- American College of Radiology Update, Presented by Dennis Kay, M.D., Chairman, Radiology, Ochsner Health System
- Radiation Issues in Medicine, Presented by Jerome Jones, Ph.D.
- Advanced Imaging Application for Flat Panel Detectors: Focus on Tomosynthesis, Presented by Robert Irvine, RT (R) SonialVision Product Manager, Shimadzu Medical Systems
- Emotional Intelligence: What is it and Why Do we Need to Understand It? Presented by Ritchie Dupre, Administrative Director of Radiology, Ochsner Health System
All speakers were awesome and provided great information for all to use and bring back to their facility.
As is typical of New Orleans, all great events wrap up with cocktails and fun.
