Job Description/Duties:
Senior management representative in radiology services. Work with appropriate managers, physicians, and administrative staff in for overseeing purchase and service for all imaging equipment at PCMH. Provide close liaison between departmental personnel, radiologists, and hospital administration. Oversee the operation of:
- Radiology Administration
- ARU
- Radiology Bio-Medical
- Clinical Support
- CT Scanning
- Diagnostic Radiology (Fluoro/General Diagnostic)
- Family Practice
- MRI Center
- Nuclear Medicine
- Radiology Nursing
- Central Transport
- Ultrasound Services
- Vascular/Interventional Radiology
AHRA Involvement (Volunteering, Committees, etc):
I have been a member of AHRA for 20 years and a CRA since 2004. I am a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and have enjoyed my life’s work in the healthcare arena.
Something Funny or Interesting about Me
I began my career in the radiology services field as a diagnostic technologist and became director of a radiologic technology program prior to moving into radiology administration. I have always believed in continuing education and strongly encourage all staff to further their education on an ongoing basis. My father encouraged me to pursue a graduate degree stating, “Your education is something you will have forever; no one can ever take that away from you. Be a life-long learner.”
What is the biggest industry change you’ve seen since you began a career in medical imaging?
One of the biggest changes I have seen in the healthcare field is an expanded focus on the patient-family centered care experience. This is a very positive change and I am excited to see the patients and their families be elevated into a higher spotlight. In our high tech world of radiology services, we must always remember we can be “high tech” but must never loose sight of our “high touch.”
