In the current healthcare environment,
there is a growing demand for high quality ultrasound
services. With this increased demand and the complexity
of rapidly changing technology, administrators in radiology
are faced with challenges related to staffing issues,
quality monitoring responsibilities, equipment acquisitions
and information management for ultrasound practices.
The AHRA Ultrasound Management Survey was created
to share information among radiology professionals
on effective operational and clinical ultrasound practices.
The report of findings is divided into sections that
coincide with the items on the survey including:
- Demographics
- Patient education
- Marketing
- Equipment acquisition
- Information management
- Accreditation issues
- Staffing issues
- Physician supervision
- Quality monitors
Each of these areas is discussed in detail, and,
in most instances, the data is reported by region so
that
comparisons can be made between facilities within
the same area of the country.
